When are progress and financial reports due?+
By April 15th following the end of each calendar year in which the research programme ran. The progress report covers activities conducted, results achieved, progress against the Scope of Work, resulting publications, and any Research Tools developed. A financial report of actual expenditures is due on the same date. If you can't meet April 15th, notify Kestrel beforehand and you get an additional 30 days.
How and when do I invoice?+
Awards are disbursed quarterly in equal instalments, following receipt of your invoice. Submit each invoice at least 45 days before the start of the calendar quarter (quarters begin January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1). Reference the agreement number and send to grants@kestrelneuroscience.org.
What are the rules on publishing?+
You keep the right to publish. Send Kestrel a copy of any proposed publication at least 30 days before submission so confidential information and patentable inventions can be reviewed. Kestrel may ask for a delay of up to 60 further days to file patent applications. All publications must acknowledge Kestrel's support.
What do I need to disclose?+
At least once per calendar year, disclose all research programme data and Research Tools arising from the work, plus any inventions. Kestrel has a first option to negotiate a non-exclusive licence on inventions.
